Dark Halloween 10K Trail Night Run
Jolly Running are venturing into the woods of Cockington on Halloween night for our Dark Halloween 10k trail race.
Tracey has gathered her coven and dusted off her broomstick as Jolly Running are once again venturing into the woods of Cockington on Halloween night for our Dark Halloween 5k trail race.
Both the 5k and 10k races start from our race hq at Cockington Court Manor House in Torquay, this majestic Manor House has a medieval history and is the perfect location. Our Dark Halloween will take you on a spooktacular route through Cockington woods, fields and tracks. Cockington is one of our go to places to enjoy the trails. Trail running in the dark is enchanting and a different experience to running in the daylight.
Our 10k route is challenging in places with a few hills but it's also a great opportunity to try night-time trail running and still suitable for all abilities. The terrain ranges from gravel paths, grass tracks, woodland trails, a short road section of 250 metres and a small tarmac path section around the lakes.
Our course will be heavily marshalled and well sign posted with reflective arrows, flashing light sticks, reflective tape and red and white marking tape so you know you're on the right track.
Your welfare is the most important factor to us therefore head or chest torches are mandatory, for your safety we operate a strict NO TORCH NO RUN policy. Please also wear reflective gear if possible so you are seen from behind by other runners.
Fancy dress is not mandatory but is definitely encouraged, it's Halloween!! Who doesn't dress up on Halloween??? there is a prize for the one which catches our eye, if wearing fancy dress please bear in mind that you'll be running through woodland trails with branches etc, we don't want anyone tripping up on their mummy bandages or broomsticks. There will be a refreshment stand at the finish of the 5k.
Minimum Age 18+
Head/chest torch is mandatory kit and will be checked before giving you your race number, sorry folks it’s for your safety.
Every finisher gets a Glow in the Dark Halloween medal and a muff/bandana.

We have collaborated with the Torbay Development agency and the Torbay Coast & Countryside Trust in making this event family friendly. Parking is available as we have 3 designated pay and display car parks all in very close proximity to the Race HQ. These car parks are run by the Torbay Development Agency and Torbay Coast & Countryside Trust and they are very kindly extending their opening hours for the event. Details of their locations will be sent out in your race information two weeks prior to the event.
There are also toilets and a cafe at race Hq too. The Seven Dials Cafe at Cockington Court cafe is very kindly staying open to serve you food and drink so you can make an evening of it and feed your hungry little runners afterwards too.
We also have a 1 mile Dark Halloween Fun Run for everyone and a 5k option. Cockington Court is also hosting a series of activities from 21st October through to 3rd November in celebration of Halloween in their Day of the Dead Halloween Festival. Please see their website for more details.
The Drum Inn pub is also a short walk across the green.
